About Drippic

What is Drippic?

Drippic is a photo sharing site with Twitter integration.

Why the name Drippic?

Drippic is built on the Drupal content management framework. The Drupal logo is a drop of water and Drupal is an English rendering of the Dutch word "druppel", which means "drop" (as in "a water droplet").

So "drip" is in reference to Drupal, and "pic", because you can use Drippic to post your pictures.

How do I use Drippic?

Drippic is really easy to use, and it can be used in three different ways.

First of all click the "sign in with twitter" button on the right, enter your Twitter login details (if it asks you for them), then confirm you want to allow Drippic "read and write" access to your Twitter account.

Three ways to post a picture.
1) Click the Post pic link, enter your tweet, upload your photo and click save.
2) Click the My account link, make a note of your Drippic email address, send photos as an email to that address. The email subject will be posted as a Tweet, and the attachments will be posted as photos.
3) Use the Drippic API, this allows you to create an app that posts to Drippic, or use an app such as Tweetie for iPhone to post your pictures.

Why does Drippic need "read and write" access to my twitter account?

Read access is needed so we know who you are, and who posted which photo.

Write access is needed so we can post your tweets, with a link to your photos every time you post one. Also so we can post your comments as an @ reply to the person who posted the photo you're commenting on.
